Beach and Sea Activities

Section targeting

There are too many reasons why beach and sea activities are some of the favorites of many adventure lovers: the warm sunshine, the cool sea breeze, the soft soothing sound of the waves crashing against the shore…….

If you live in close proximity to a beach you’re lucky. If on the other hand, you're traveling to another country, the resort for you is one near the ocean. Most Islands boast beautiful beach hotels, cottages and villas which offer a range of typical beach and sea activities:

Beach Games and other fun beach activities
Boat riding or boating
Diving
Fishing
Horse riding
Kayaking
Parasailing
Sailing
Scuba diving
Snorkeling
Sunbathing, strolling and walking on the beach
Surfing
Whale, dolphin, turtle watching
Yachting

Don’t get me wrong. You do not have to be at a seaside resort to have a fun time in the sand. I am originally from the beautiful Caribbean Island of St. Lucia and I can tell you that some of the most fun I’ve had on the shore was on those days when we’d just grab our bathing suits, and towels, put on our flip-flops , jump in the back of a truck and drive to the waiting ocean.

It doesn’t matter how old you are. Playing in the sand is always fun. I’ve stopped building sand castles for many, many years now, but no matter how old I get, I will always enjoy basking in the sunshine and pushing my toes in the warm sand.

I prefer going to the beach later in the day because I sunburn quite easily (scorching midday sun), but as long as you have the items on your must-have checklist (see list below) there are many things you don’t have to worry about.

Yes I know you can taste the salty air on your tongue right now. If you’ve got access to a beach, grab your blanket, flippers, and sunscreen and get going. If however you’re nowhere near the seashore you know what you can do. There are travel agencies that can help you get you on your way to nature’s biggest bathtub!
